Membership Classification:

Membership in the Association shall consist of: (A) Regular Voting member (B) Associate Voting Member (C) Affiliate Member (D) Academic Member (E) Apprentice Student Member (F) Honorary Member

    (A) Regular Voting: Any person actively engaged in the retail selling and fitting of hearing aids in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and who holds a permanent license issued by the Kentucky Board For Licensing Hearing Aid Dealers shall be eligible for Regular Voting Membership.

    (B) Associate Voting Member:  Any person engaged in the retail selling and fitting of hearing aids in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, who holds a permanent license issued by the Kentucky Board for Licensing Hearing Aid Dealers who is associated with a Regular Voting Member is eligible for Associate Voting Membership.

   (C) Affiliate Member: Any person, firm or corporation engaged in hearing aid industry, other than the retail selling and fitting of hearing aids, in the Commonwealth of Kentucky is eligible for NON-Voting Affiliate Membership.

   (D) Academic Member:  Any person who either is an instructor or enrolled as a student of a program in the field of audiology and/or hearing instrument sciences.  Academic membership shall be non-voting membership.

   (E) Apprentice Student Member:  Any person who holds a temporary trainee permit as stipulated by KRS 334.090.  Apprenticeship membership shall be non-voting membership.

   (F) Honorary Member:  The Board of Directors, By majority vote, may honor persons by conferring upon them honorary membership, who, in the opinion of the Board have distinguished themselves, in the field of aid to hearing impaired persons, or who have made a worthy contribution to the Association.  Non-Voting Honorary Members shall not be subject to dues or assessments.
